Honky Tonk Angels is a collaborative studio album by Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette. It was released on November 2, 1993, by Columbia Records. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 5, 1994, for sales of 500,000 copies. The album had been a long-rumored project between the country singers for over a decade. It was mostly Parton's idea to bring together the women who made their musical breakthroughs in the '60s.

The album showcases Jake Penrod's songwriting ability as well as musicianship across an array of different styles of Honky Tonk music. He wrote each song on the album and played every instrument in authentic Honky Tonk fashion, proving he knows his stuff when it comes to traditional Country Music, and earning the title of King of Texas Twang. Jake is a Country Music traditionalist who believes moving forward doesn't necessarily mean leaving the past behind. Jake Penrod and his Million-Dollar Cowboys can be seen regularly in the dancehalls and honky tonks throughout the Texas Hill Country. His hardcore Honky Tonk band and powerful, Ray-Price-like tenor vocals pierce through the loudest of barrooms and keep dancers on their feet all night. There's not a lot of downtime in our shows," he says. These people show up to dance.

Honky Tonk Angels was produced by Parton and Steve Buckingham. The album had been a long-rumored project between the country singers for over a decade and received much publicity and acclaim upon its release, although its only single release, a remake of the longtime country female vocalist staple "Silver Threads and Golden Needles", barely dented the charts (its accompanying video, however, received heavy rotation from CMT and TNN). Record sales, however, placed the album at on Billboard's country album chart, where it spent 24 weeks, and on Billboard 200, the pop album.
