Political interpretations of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz include treatments of the modern fairy tale (written by L. Frank Baum and first published in 1900) as an allegory or metaphor for the political, economic, and social events of America in the 1890s. Scholars have examined four quite different versions of Oz: the novel of 1900, the Broadway play of 1901, the Hollywood film of 1939, and the numerous follow-up Oz novels written after 1900 by Baum and others.
Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs (also known as the "Wizard of Oz" and during his reign, as "Oz, the Great and Terrible" or the "Great and Powerful Oz") is a fictional character in the Land of Oz created by American author L. Frank Baum. The character was further popularized by a stage play and several movies, most famously the classic 1939 movie, as well as the 2013 prequel adaption.
Do you believe in magic? Just like the story 'bout the Wizard of Oz I have a wish to be a very special girl (Make a wish) I really really wanna know so much So tell me, are you the Wizard of Oz? Will you take me to the land of Oz Yes, I will, come on (Let's go then) But that's your house, and not the land of Oz But this is much more fun (Really?) You can be my wizard But don't tell anyone
Wizard of Oz is a great record for kids, and parents bemoan the lack of good children's records all the time. So go to the used record store and track down some Meco. Star Wars & Other Galactic Funk may always be the best place to start. But this album get my vote for Meco purchase number two. Oh, "Optimistic Voices" is great too. It is a real shame that this record does not sync up to the film the way Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon does.
Dorothy and her dog Toto are whisked to the land of Oz. There she meets a good witch and gets some new shoes. All she wants is to go home so she follows the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. There, she is told she will meet the wizard of oz and upon the way she meets memorable friends, while having to deal with an angry witch.

The Wizard as illustrated by William Wallace Denslow (1900). The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900). Zelena leaves for the Enchanted Forest to seek out family and returns asking to go to the past so she can change her own fate of being abandoned by her mother. The wizard states that even with the most powerful magic, this is not possible. The Wizard of Oz is the titular subject of the Spock's Beard song, "The Man Behind the Curtain" from their 2010 album, X. The Fall Out Boy song 'Alpha Dog' features the lyric "I can almost see the wizard through the curtains" - meaning he can see through the deception of something. In the web series RWBY the character of "Headmaster Ozpin" alludes to The Wizard of Oz.
The Wizard reveals himself to be a ventriloquist and balloonist from Omaha, Nebraska, who accidentally ended up in the land of Oz and was taken for a powerful sorcerer by its Munchkin inhabitants. He prolonged the illusion and had them build the beautiful Emerald City. Benevolent but undoubtedly a humbug, the Wizard is unmasked by Dorothy and her companions when they return to claim the promises he made them if they were successful in killing the Wicked Witch of the West.
