The DFA collect mostly early 00s remixes for Le Tigre, Metro Area, and Fischerspooner, highlighting the duo's understanding of disco as a space of infinite possibility.

Equinox is the fifth album by Styx, released in December 1975. The album was the band's first release for A&M Records (with whom they had signed earlier in 1975, after the late unexpected success of the 1973 single "Lady"). The album also marked the final appearance of original Styx guitarist John Curulewski who left the band to spend time with his family, abruptly following the release of Equinox.

Equinox is a music studio album recording by STYX (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1975 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Some good numbers as all mid-period Styx album have. this is the last album of Curulewski (and the first line-up change for a very stable outfit) as he will be replaced by Shaw. With this album Styx came into big-league radio-friendly FM rock with slight prog overtone. This is one of the core album of the classic period and not bad to start with. Better things to come, though.

Equinox produced Styx's first single with A&M, the highly spirited "Lorelei," which found its way to number 27 on the charts. Although it was the only song to chart from Equinox, the album itself is a benchmark in the band's career since it includes an instrumental nature reminiscent of their early progressive years, yet hints toward a more commercial-sounding future in its lyrics

I have to say this release has it all, I wont go into boring you with individual reviews of each track and what happens in them, the songs are on the side. But essentially for me it was "the theory" and "covert action" which just blew me away. Funny thing is im not into techno that much but something about this compilation you just cannot refuse. Its amazing and i suggest if your into deep house, downtempo or just amazing unique sounds, you need this. Is it worth the 100$ pricetag? i thought so.

Bought this at the time it came out (from Warp Records in Sheffield) without really knowing of any of the artists. I was 15/16 at the time, and am I glad I bought this then! I still like to dig it out for plays now - the music, artwork, feel of the 12 are just pure class. Underground Resistance track is awesome, and Sitting Under A Tree is just one of the most chilled and beautiful tracks ever recorded in the house genre. But goes WAY beyond the title house... A "must own" for any house vinyl connoisseur.

Another fine find in the used bins of Let it Be records Mineapolis; courtesy Rod Smith, circa 1991. Thanks! EPIC record with early Alan Oldham artwork and the amazing Theory by UR and a hissy press of "As Time Goes By," later pressed up on PE. A gentle GIANT of a record that easily can hold its own against most anything deep and slo.
