Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is the seventh album by The Moody Blues, released in 1971. This album featured the only track to be written by all five members of the band. The opening "Procession" was a piece that was intended to describe the history of music from the beginning of time up until the album's recording. The best-realized of their classic albums, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was also the last of the group's albums for almost a decade to be done under reasonably happy and satisfying circumstances - for the last time with this lineup, they went into the studio with a reasonably full song bag and a lot of ambition and brought both a. Nice to Be Here," and "My Song" are among the best work the group ever did, and "The Story in Your Eyes" is the best rock number they ever cut, with a bracing beat and the kind of lyrical complexity one more expected out of George Harrison at the time. Though it is little known outside Moody Blues fandom, in many ways "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour" is superior to the more famous "Days of Future Passed" and "Seventh Sojourn. The Classic Moodies' strength was melody, and here EGBDF especially stands out. From the opening rocker "Story in Your Eyes" to the concluding symphonic "My Song," every tune is hummable and memorable.

It is perhaps the most obscure of the seven albums, with one major hit and eight other songs which have made their way into few, if any, Moodies compilations.
