Profile: Years active: 1960–present. A professional Southern Gospel quartet based in Pensacola, FL. The quartet got their start in 1960 by J. G. Whitfield, who founded The Dixie Echoes and The Florida Boys. Whitfield, only just a couple of years earlier, had yielded his bass singing role of the Florida Boys to spend more time at home. But as the country entered the first year of the 1960s, the desire to sing lured Whitfield to form another quartet that he named The Messengers. renamed the group to The Dixie Echoes Quartet
Echoes biography Venezuelan act ECHOES was formed in 2004, and just one year after they started to form a presence in their local live scene, and won in the local Alma Mater rock festival the same year. After honing their craft for two more years the band decided to hit the recording studio. In between recording songs they also rearranged some compositions to cater for the use of guest vocalists to be featured in what had previously been instrumental efforts, and in early 2009 the studio work was done .
