Entertainment! is the debut album by English post-punk band Gang of Four, released in September 1979. This album was released on EMI in the UK and on Warner Bros. in the US. Stylistically, the album draws on punk but also incorporates the influence of funk, dance music, reggae and dub. Its lyrics and artwork reflected the band's left-wing political concerns. It would be an influential release in the burgeoning post-punk movement.
EP Entertainment, established in 2011, was founded by Music Industry Executives Tony Perez and Robert Robeo Eleazer. Early last year, EP artist and songwriter Sebastian Kole, (who co-wrote and co-produced Alessia’s album) received domestic and international praise for his four songs which aired on ABC’s hit show Grey’s Anatomy.
While an album is being compiled; singles, videos, mixtapes, EPs are some of the ways artistes entertain their fans. In the same way EP and LP are wrongly interchanged, people sometimes mix-up mixtapes for EPs, but a mixtapes is another category of musical projects which could contain original or unoriginal works of the artiste. For a lot of artistes, mixtapes are seen as freebies, as the idea behind the release of a mixtape is not profit, rather, artistes use it to grow their fan base. A perfect type of a non-rap EP is War put together by the clique of Odunsi & Nonso Amadi. The RnB/Soul singing duo put together an amazing 4 track long EP, which is helping them grow their reach in the circle of music lovers inside and outside of Nigeria. With the observable growth that the Nigerian music industry is experiencing, artistes are constantly looking for new and better ways to entertain their fans.
The album will open with Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton, rapping about the concept in both Spanish and English. He rhymes about how DNA results can send you to lands of ice, dirt and sand/a map of the world in the lines of your hand. Its 2011 song Latinoamérica, featuring celebrated singers from Peru, Brazil and Colombia, became something like a hemispheric anthem. After the tour that followed Calle 13’s remarkable 2014 album, Multi Viral, an embrace and critique of internet culture, Residente and Visitante went separate ways, and Residente became the architect of his own music. Everything I could have done with Calle 13 - I did it, Residente said. Sometimes it’s easier if you work on your own, even if it’s your brother that you love and you understand.
EP or Mini Album (Extended Play) – originally a record, on each side of which only 2-4 musical compositions with a total duration of sound of 15-20 minutes were placed. Initially, EP was called the 7-inch diameter vinyl record, recorded at 33⅓ RPM. This difference of speed with respect to the simple engraving at 45 RPM allowed it to have a longer duration (a maximum of 25 minutes, 12’30 per side) compared to the length of the single, whose maximum duration could not exceed 15 minutes
