Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra (Vaughan Williams). Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra is a piano concerto by the British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. He wrote his solo Piano Concerto in the years between 1926 and 1930, which was first performed in 1933 under Adrian Boult. The piece gained a reputation for being too difficult and demanding, so Vaughan Williams reworked the piece for two pianos with the assistance of Joseph Cooper.

Gershwin began the two-piano score in July. Though I'd had enough piano study to know the basics of sheet music reading, my objective in owning a single copy of 2P4H is just to follow along as I listen to a recording, realizing that this is really the score, to something I doubted could be so fully documented. The challenge for this level of musical aspirant is not to play, therefore, but merely to observe, and to dream, but I find it fun, even, when I can keep up through some of those long sections of Allegro, Adagio and Allegro agitato.
