Earl Hines-Tour De Force-Black Lion 2460 200-ENGLAND. Tour De Force's second album contained 17 non-filler tracks and comprised of uptempo hard rockers, midtempo melodic rock tunes, and passionate ballads. My most fave tracks here are "Tonight" that's penned by Michael Bolton; the beautiful ballad, "Coming Home"; the wonderful midtempo pomp-rock with Asia touch, "Hold On"; the Journey-esque midtempo, "Lady Midnight", and the monstrous melodic rock, "Got To Know".

Pianist Earl Hines is in top form on this brilliant set of solo piano. This CD (which has three previously unreleased performances along with five of the six numbers from its counterpart LP) and Tour de Force Encore greatly expand upon the original set. Whether it be "Mack the Knife," "Indian Summer," or "I Never Knew," Hines is near the peak of his creativity on this CD, taking wild chances with time and coming up with fresh new variations on these veteran standards.
