There I found this album "Debussy's Greatest Hits" by Columbia Stereo Masterworks (its original vinyl version) and I bought it instantly. When I brought to my uncle's house and first played it on his turntable, I was instantly awed and mesmerized by the pieces Reverie, Arabesque No. 1 and The Girl with the Flaxen hair. Clair de Lune I already knew, and Ormandy's version was great, but a bit too fast and too powerful when compared to the one I already knew. Performed by: William Smith, Philadelphia Orchestra. Claude Debussy, Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun), for orchestra, L. 86 10:25. Performed by: Leonard Bernstein, New York Philharmonic. Claude Debussy, Fêtes, for orchestra (Nocturne No. 2), L. 91/2 5:54.
