The Stereotypes were a 70's Experimental Jazz Rock band from Coventry, UK. Evolving from Ens, they changed their name ( to Reluctant Stereotypes) following the departure of Pete Bosworth, who was was one of the founding members. The line up of Stereotypes Mk I, was Steve Haddon - Guitar, Steve Edgson - Clarinet/Sax/Guitar, Mick Hartley - Bass, Chris Dunne - Drums, Martyn Bates - Vocals & Paul Sampson - Guitar. The band signed with Oval and released their first single in 1979.

Stereotypes" is a song by English alternative rock band Blur and is the opening track to their fourth studio album, The Great Escape. It was released on 12 February 1996 as the third single from that album, charting at number 7 in the UK Singles Chart. The music video which was directed by Matthew Longfellow features live footage.
