The Take Me Home Tour was the second headlining concert tour by English-Irish boy band One Direction, in support of their second studio album, Take Me Home (2012). The tour began on 23 February 2013 in London, England, and concluded on 3 November 2013 in Chiba, Japan. It was announced by member Liam Payne at the BRIT Awards in early 2012, originally billed as the UK & Ireland Arena Tour.

Take Me Home is pop/rock band One Direction's sophomore studio album. It was released on November 12, 2012. One Direction announced in early 2012 that they had began working on their second album. In March 2012, Tom Fletcher (McFly frontman) confirmed that he would be writing a song for the album, having previously written "I Want", for the band's debut album Up All Night.

A global sensation, the album garnered several hit singles and sold millions of copies worldwide. It also faired pretty well with critics, who appreciated the band's mix of melodic songcraft and catchy, dance-oriented material that, while slickly produced, avoided the commercial cynicism and adult contemporary posturing of some of their '80s and '90s forebears. Take Me Home picks up where One Direction's debut album left off, all punchy pop-rock anthems (the delirious opening salvo of Live While We’re Young and Kiss You ) and tender acoustic balladry (the Ed Sheeran-cowritten Little Things and Over Again ). Perhaps the album's most intriguing moments, however, are the Dr. Luke-produced, Queen-referencing Rock Me and the plaintive Change My Mind -both of which hint at the band’s more mature, stadium-slaying sound that was to come.
