Whos Afraid Of Monty Luke featuring Monty Luke.
Monty Luke's Tomorrow EP is further proof. Luke is the label manager of Carl Craig's Planet E, and he just started his own Black Catalogue imprint last autumn. This EP was the first release, and after an extended run as vinyl-only-eight months-it's now open to the digital market, acting as Luke's nod to tradition and the demands of the modern marketplace. The two sides of this EP do this as well. They sound like they could, technically speaking, have been made in 1990. The pads detune and warble, and each of the instruments occupies its own space.
Tomorrow EP. MONTY LUKE. Tomorrow EP. Black Catalogue US. Cat: BC001 101 Released: 2 May, 2012 Genre: Techno. Steadily working his way up with a sumptuous deep house sound, Monty Luke, Carl Craig's right-hand man at Planet E, appears on his own fledgling imprint with some surefire party rockers. Yesterday & Today" ticks away in all the right places, using an urgent vocal to create tension while the same relentless bassline keeps hammering away at your dancing organs. Tomorrow" is a stranger affair, taking an unconventional approach to beat-mapping which calls to mind the earliest drum machine workouts of the early Detroit forefathers

To be honest it's been a while since I've caught up with anything LS-S related - mainly due to self-inflicted over-exposure as a result of his previous x3 (& phenomenal) EP's and x2 of his gigs within the space of a week. With that said and having caught up with his fresh EP, I hadn't realised I'd missed him quite this much. Luke's calibre as an outstanding talent hasn't really been in question ever since "Fail For You" first landed and this is something that would be echoed by anyone that has had the pleasure of seeing him live.
Detroits Monty Luke brought Full Flavor Music the highly anticipated Bomb On Bomb< EP which dropped in the summer of 2012. Other than being Carl Craigs right hand man at Planet E Communications, Monty Luke has been letting loose chart topping EPs one right after another all year long. Planet E, KMS, Mothership, Get Physical, and Montys own Black Catalogue are amongst the labels he has been busy releasing with. Full Flavor Music is happy to be getting out the highly anticipated remixes to Bomb On Bomb< by H Foundation and Gerd.
