The crickets sound like they are singing the most angelic chorus in perfect harmony. Though it sounds like human voices, everything you hear in the recording is the crickets themselves. I discovered that when I slowed down this recording to various levels, this simple familiar sound began to morph into something very mystic and comple. lmost human. It has a four-part harmony. It is a swaying choral panorama. Then a voice comes in on the tape and says, What you are listening to is the sound of crickets. The only thing that has been manipulated is that they slowed down the tape. No effects have been added of any kind, except that they changed the speed of the tape. The sound is so haunting.
This is an old ask that I was saving until I’d drawn them - but I just remembered I had actually drawn them in a Drawpile once! It’s only a doodle, but here they are! Cricket’s the left, Blue’s the right. Soft, wonderful John was the bassist of a rock band that had toured overseas, and here he was making you dinner. God, I’m so fucking proud of you, John, I can’t wait to watch you to get everything you deserve in life. You mused, and your words struck a chord in him, and he had to take a long moment as the sentiment of your words really sunk in.
