Octopus (Steven Wilson Mix).
Octopus is the fourth album by British progressive rock band Gentle Giant, released in 1972. It was the band's last album with founding member Phil Shulman and the first with new drummer John Weathers, who would remain with the band until their dissolution in 1980. Octopus remains a highly regarded example of the progressive rock genre and is generally considered to represent the start of the band's peak period.

Even the weakest of the 3, the debut, still captivates with its more abstract-ambient style. As a album O2 is certainly a unique interesting listen from start to finnish that has sadly become a underrated, forgotten, lost, and pricey Fax album. This sadly remains a true undiscovered gem, that for me, certainly deserves more recognition and praise for its originality! Reply 3 Helpful.

The two said sirens were chatting away with John and George, even though both sides couldn't understand what the other was saying. John was assuming he thanked him first because, y'know, that's something someone does when they're saved. John wore a smirk as Paul chattered away, the words sounding like croaks to him. Ringo was trying to use hand gestures and drawings in the sand to communicate to George on the other hand. While John was watching Paul 'talk', he noticed a small bite mark above his gills.
One of only two full-length albums released during the group's original early-'80s run (Pylon would eventually disband and re-form a number of times as the members' moods and lifestyles dictated), Chomp was just as taught, exciting, and spooky as its classic predecessor, Gyrate, but benefited from a step-up in production values. Kicking off with the throbbing, guitar noise-infused "K" (a strangely unsettling tribute to the board game Scrabble), the record inhabits a murky alternate universe dance party where Gloria Gaynor and Donna Summer's melodic R&B vocals.

An expanded reissue of the Athens post-punks' second album offers some clues to where they could have gone next. The morose opening track on Chomp More reinforces the standard notion that the . contemporaries were Athens, Georgia's version of Gang of Four. But this reissue, another DFA-sanctioned dip into the band's brief back catalog, highlights the unhinged spin the band put on post-punk, a joyous take on mechanized funk. Recorded in 1982 after Pylon had already taken a . road trip with Leeds' most famous Marxist rock collective, Chomp sounds more assured and more open
