My Generation is the debut studio album by English rock band the Who, released on 3 December 1965 by Brunswick Records in the United Kingdom. In the United States, it was released on 25 April 1966 by Decca Records as The Who Sings My Generation, with a different cover and a slightly altered track listing.

Popular music of the United Kingdom in the 1970s built upon the new forms of music developed from blues rock towards the end of the 1960s, including folk rock and psychedelic rock. Several important and influential subgenres were created in Britain in this period, by pursuing the limitations of rock music, including British folk rock and glam rock, a process that reached its apogee in the development of progressive rock and one of the most enduring subgenres in heavy metal music

Flower Power: The Music of the Love Generation is a three-disc, 45-track collection of every obvious song from the mid- to late '60s and early '70s by almost exclusively American acts. You know all these songs if you collect music from the era (or have watched a lot of television commercials or documentaries on the era), and more than likely have them, but for the price, it might be nice to have them all in one place.

I purchased the CD because I am a child of the 70s and wanted some headline music to bring back memories. This CD is a great compilation if you are looking for an overview of the period. 4 people found this helpful.

Rock music emerged from the ’60s as to go-to choice of white youth culture. Soul and funk were reaching new levels of artistry. Punk, the first serious backlash against the rock mainstream, came into its own. Records from Jamaica were making their way to the UK and, eventually, the . changing sounds and urging a new kind of political consciousness. But the version recorded for his massive 1976 crossover album Africa Brasil exudes joy, sparks flying from every exuberant note. The record would end up getting Rod Stewart-whose Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? bore a strong resemblance-sued. It’s not difficult, though, to see what Stewart saw in its jubilant DNA (unconsciously, according to his autobiography). The ’70s yielded countless songs about falling in love, but few are as blissful as this. Listen: The Spinners: Could It Be I’m Falling in Love.
