The Rangers or Plavci is a Czech pop folk and country music band formed in 1964 by Milan Dufek and Antonín Hájek. Its classic ensemble consisted of Milan Dufek (1944–2005; tenor), Antonín Hájek (1944–1989; baritone), Miroslav Řihošek, Jan Vančura (countertenor), Jiří Veisser, and Radek Tomášek. The band sold over one million records. The Rangers quickly became famous for the singing qualities of its members, from the bass of Jiří Veisser to the countertenor of Jan Vančura

The Album was a great success and it was not long before a gentleman named Sammy Dennistoun alias Billy King, asked the band to record another Album, this was known as " The Rangers Story. This Saturday we will witness a demonstration of outsiders from the group who protested outside the chapel at the barrows on the MAIN STREET in Thornliebank. This looks like a step up of whoever is organising this group to travel to all parades to be offended

Thornliebank reached the 1879–80 Scottish Cup final, but lost 3–0 to Queen's Park at Cathkin Park. The Thornliebank 1880 Scottish Cup finalists were J. Cadden, J. Jamieson, W. Marshall, A. Henderson, W. McFetridge, A. Clark, A. Brannan, W. Anderson, D. Wham, T. Brannan and A. S. Hutton. In the same season, Thornliebank won the Renfrewshire Cup. They replaced Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Football Combination during 1897–98 season and stayed in the league until 1901 Former players.
