Lone Ranger (born Anthony Alphanso Waldron 2 November 1958) is a Jamaican reggae deejay who recorded nine albums between the late 1970s and mid-1980s. Waldron spent much of his youth in the United Kingdom and began his recording career with Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One label. He initially worked as a duo with Welton Irie, but soon began recording solo, having a big hit in Jamaica with "Love Bump". He also worked on the Virgo Sound sound system.

An open ambience was achieved in the newly recorded Republic versions of Lone Ranger music. AKG, Neumann, and Telefunken microphones were processed through a Trident Console and fed into a 24 multi-track 30 ips recorder. No noise reduction was applied in order to keep the signal path as pure as possible. The archival material on sides 3 and 4 varies in quality. Every effort has been made to reduce noise without damage to the music. Sound expert Chris Lembesis met the challenge with an array of stylii, skills, patience and experience.
