I admit the thing that kept bringing me back to this record was the album cover. The sun setting over the mountains reminds me of what I get to see in September here at home. The other thing that was appealing was the liberal use of mellotron that was advertised.

Shop Lost Paradise by ELOITERON. My introduction to doom metal legends Paradise Lost came about with albums such as 1997’s ‘One Second’ and 2007’s ‘In Requiem’. While the music itself is fairly straightforward, I found myself enjoying some of the grooving, yet melancholic, guitar riffs. With melodic and catchy vocals, along with keyboards that give the music more depth and atmosphere, this is something I could very easily get into. Which brings me to this, 1990’s debut release, ‘Lost Paradise’. Overall, this is a low-budget 1990 death metal album that sounds like a low-budget 1990 death metal album.

Lost Paradise is the debut album of the heavy metal band Paradise Lost. Released in February 1990 by Peaceville Records, it features their early death/doom style. The album was re-issued in 2003 and included three bonus tracks. The tracks "Our Saviour" and "Frozen Illusion" were rerecorded in other Paradise Lost albums Tragic Illusion 25 and Medusa.
