The Aces, initially known as "The Four Aces" were a Jamaican vocal group who are best known for their work with Desmond Dekker, but who also recorded without him. The initial line-up of the Aces was Clive Campbell, Barry Howard, Carl Howard, and Patrick Howard. The group came to the attention of Dekker, who supported them when they auditioned for Leslie Kong at Beverley's studio in 1965.

The Four Aces are an American male traditional pop music quartet, popular since the 1950s. Over the last half-century, the group amassed many gold records. Its million-selling signature tunes include "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing", "Three Coins in the Fountain", "Stranger in Paradise", "Tell Me Why", and "(It's No) Sin". Other big sellers included "Shangri-La", "Perfidia", and "Sincerely".

Album · 1996 · 15 Songs. The Four Aces (Featuring Al Alberts).

The Four Aces, led by the at times overpowering lead voice of Al Alberts, had a string of solid hits in the early '50s ("Mister Sandman," "Three Coins in a Fountain," "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing," " Sin," "Tell Me Why"), and while it would be easy to pass them off as just another competent vocal quartet blessed with. The lush string arrangements on "Three Coins" and "Splendored" give them a huge, sweeping cinematic feel that suits the throw-the-stops-out singing style of Alberts to a T. At the other end of the scale, both "(It's No) Sin" and "Tell Me Why" are structured around simple roller-rink organ arrangements that are just a little eerie in their steady.
