While Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley remain the mainstays of Kiss, they've had a number of members in the band since the departure of the other two originals, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. Former members of the band have included drummer Eric Carr and guitarists Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John and Bruce Kulick are you so wealthy that you need to surreptitiously attach others struggles to yourself for validation? If I hear a KISS album with amazing music, talented instruments and a hungry style that isn't trying to sell lunch boxes I will be a fan again. let me know if you want to Jam.
This is a great, truly demonic Gene Simmons song that got lost amidst the high-minded goals of Kiss' much-bashed 1981 concept record ) is brought to shame time and time again by Simmons, who asserts that while he's far from a saint himself, even he can tell that his foe is "not well. He finally goes on to declare his enemy worthy of a one-way trip to hell. Reportedly, Kiss hired a marketing firm to find out what fans wanted from them prior to the recording of 1992's 'Revenge' album. Word came back that less hair-metal, and more Simmons songs, was the desired recipe. You could argue that's a bit of a calculated way to go about things, but whatever it took to fully wake up the demon is OK by us. Particularly since it resulted in this absolutely nasty stomper of a song (check out the dramatic bass and drums groove around 2:08), which finds Gene embodying all the evil and sin in the world and then shoving it back in our pathetic.
During a recent interview with Madison Vain of Build Series, KISS bassist Gene Simmons talked about the unifying power of music. He said that music brings families together instead of separates them. You’re dog-tired; you’ve just done a big show; and you get up on that stage, when you see the joy in everybody’s fac. e’ve seen it all. We’ve been around for generations, but when you see a little 5-year-old kid in KISS makeup on his dad’s shoulders who’s wearing KISS makeup, next to his fathe. e’re badass kind of guys - nothing affects us much - but that stuff will put a lump in your throat. You have to turn around for a second.
Granted, there are a few heavy rockers (such as the single "Radioactive," "Burning Up With Fever," and "See You in Your Dreams"), but Simmons was always a closet Beatles fan, as evidenced by "See You Tonite," "Always Near You," "Man of 1,000 Faces," and "Mr. Make Believe. The only real misstep is a preposterously embarrassing cover of the Disney classic "When You Wish Upon a Star" (complete with Disney-esque sound effects/music)
Gene Simmons faces a lawsuit filed by a woman who accuses the Kiss bassist of sexual misconduct during a November interview. The woman, listed as Jane Doe in the lawsuit to protect her identity, alleges that Simmons made several aggressive, unwanted sexual advances despite Jane Doe’s active and clear discouragement when the woman, an on-air personality at a local rock radio station, interviewed Simmons at San Bernadino, California’s Rock & Brews restaurant. The lawsuit alleges that at the venue, Simmons reached over and grabbed hand and, forcefully, placed it on his knee. Doe withdrew her hand, feeling that this was an unwanted sexual advance, but Simmons continued to reach for Doe’s hand. Simmons then allegedly flicked/struck Doe in the throat, at which point Doe attempted to end the interview.
